Janto 4EVaH!!11!! - Again, this 'relationship' started because Ianto used sex to get a job at Torchwood for his own personal reasons. Jack didn't even ask Ianto out until S2 and that only after he found out, to his dismay, that Gwen was engaged to Rhys. Jack was shown having several heart-to-heart talks with Gwen, and he confided the secret of his immortality to her shortly after he met her. Ianto, on the other hand, had no idea about Jack being immortal, even though they'd been shagging for some time. Where the slashers get the idea that Jack n' Ianto are this great, sweet, wonderfull twu wuv and Gwen is an evil harpy trying to destroy their pure, perfect wub is beyond me. Jack barely interacted with Ianto in S1 and the whole 'they're lovers' thing came out of the blue. But then, I'm one of those weirdos who bases her opinion of the characters on the actual show.

Wow. Oh wow. First let me just make this face--->
Damn man, so what? According to this any Janto shipper who thinks that by S.2 Jack and Ianto managed to find some kind of contentment with each other--or ooh hey, maybe even love--is desecrating the TW fandom? Seriously, that kinda hurts where my heart used to be.
Listen, I'll be the first to admit that aspects of the Janto ship are unhealthy but honestly, what's a healthy relationship? Any attachment to another human being that didn't raise you rarely ends well. I digress, though. Letting my own shitty personal life colour this reply, sorry.
There are quite a few reasons why Ianto is so loyal to Jack, not all of them bad. I mean, c'mon...Jack should have killed Ianto at the end of Cyberwoman, but he didn't. Hell, instead of giving Ianto mouth to mouth after Lisa left him to die, Jack could have just let Ianto be another Torchwood casualty. See, how I look at it, Jack saw that Ianto was damaged but salvagable. He gave Ianto a chance to live life after the death of the love of his life. Yeah, maybe there was a touch of punishment there, but by S.2 Ianto is a changed man. He's a stronger character, happy even.
I mean, we all knew there wouldn't be a happy ending for them. Ianto a mortal member of Torchwood, after all, but to boil their relationship down to pure lust and obsession is a real miscalculation imho. |

| Legend of Zelda: Remember, they are different Links and Zeldas, with different characterizations and relationships between each other. What goes for Spirit Tracks, where they're all but officially a couple, doesn't go for Twilight Princess, where they don't get to know each other very well.
Ganon is always the same guy in all games. He's Evil with a capital E, and hates, hates, hates Hyrule and its royal family with every fiber of his being. Not likely to be romancing Zelda any time soon. He hasn't demonstrated so far any feelings for any Link besides utter contempt. He is a ridiculously powerful sorcerer and has the Triforce of Power. He can affect a whole country with his magic. He froze Zora's Domain (twice!), treated the Fused Shadows like useless trinkets, sunk Hyrule Castle into lava, and once required a whole army plus someone wielding the Master Sword to hold him back (they failed btw). As shown in TP, he can take a sword to the chest just fine, rip magical shackles by brute force, then proceed to murder his executioners with the very weapon they tried to kill him with.
His speciality is manipulating other villains, and occasionally the heroes, into furthering his goals. This is not one guy your new villain can kick aside. There's a reason why Hijacked By Ganon is named after him. |

| Gargoyles
The gargoyles are not social workers. If your runaway teenage stumbles onto them, they'll turn her over to Elisa and let her deal with her. They won't take her back to their castle; they have enough to fear from the Quarrymen and God knows who else.
Broadway may be fat, but he is still a capable warrior and the best detective of the bunch. He doesn't abuse Angela and if he did, Angela can take care of herself. Also if she lays an egg (gargoyles don't get pregnant, you idiots) and he hasn't been touching her, he'll figure out something's up.
Elisa can't get pregnant from Goliath after a night of passion. Just no. First of all, the difference in proportion means that sex sure as hell wouldn't be pleasant for either party. Second of all, gargoyles lay eggs, not give birth to live young as humans do. Goliath and Elisa having children after a night of passion makes about as much sense as a gorilla and a chameleon having kids together. I will allow you some outs to this "No kids" business though. If you get Puck involved with some fairy magic or Xanatos with his genetics research, sure. But Elisa getting pregnant after a night of passion, no. Just no. |
