So. We covered PL Nunn and her 'artwork' on the GAFF board, but I don't recall anyone ever mentioning her on Hobofa. Which is a shame, because despite our fondest wishes that she'd take up something else, like knitting or soap carving, she continue to draw the most effeminate looking 'men' I've ever seen. Honestly, if it weren't for the penises, you'd swear they were girls.

I think this is supposed to be Cid and Vincent. I say suppose because often times, it's close to impossible to tell exactly who Nunn's character ARE, since all her men look basically the same.

Note the tell-tale signs of Nunn's work: The willowy, near anorexic Vincent, the Cid who only vaguely resembles the Cid we all remember from the game and the movie, and the fact that Vincent's dick appears to have been drawn as an afterthought.

One of Nunn's major problems is that she's never learned how to draw male genetalia that look real. The song 'Detachable Penis' comes to mind; since all the guys dicks look like they're attached with velcro and could be removed at a moment's notice.

On very rare occasions, she does manage to kind've get it right:

My only complaints are that he looks like his chest hair has been styled, and that I seriously doubt you'd ever catch Cid Highwind jacking off an alley somewhere wearing nothing but his flight jacket. Beyond that, we're fine.

She does draw women as well, though I can't say they fare any better than the men. This is from the Anita Blake Gallery (yes, she has an Anita Blake Gallery). I'm not sure who the two dudes are, having never read any of the stories, but I THINK the one in the middle is supposed to be Anita. I base this on the fact that she has breasts, though they're not very good breasts and look like they're at least 40% plastic.

Her Cid/Vincent stuff hurts me. Like, physically hurts me. The first time I saw the rimming pic, I went, "Eeeenh that's horrible, but at least it's not my fandom--OH MY GOD IT IS MY FANDOM"

I haven't seen a lot (I'm afraid to go looking), but of what I've seen, this one is definitely my favorite. The melting faces, the MS Paint-y hair, the one hand that's twice as big as the other, the lopsided paddle, the fact that the black-haired character* has had his lips replaced with the sucker from a loach--it's just a perfect storm of lulz.

I will admit to enjoying one of her pictures unironically, but that's only because the only thing it has in common with the majority of her work is the crap coloring job. I've spent a great amount of time (say, five, six minutes) trying to figure out how she managed to do a decent job on this one, and I can only assume that someone so prolific has to have an occasional good day the same way prolific bad artists have good days.

Am I the only one noticing that while her porn sucks uniformly, her vanilla pics can actually be not that bad? I mean, that last one even looks like something I might save to my fanart folder. What the hell happens? Does she realize that there's more market for porn and thus not work as hard on it? Is she that bad at anatomy and sex faces? Or does she just turn into a drooling, schlicking moron as soon as the pants come off?
