Judging from how bad some of the silver and gold players in ABP are... give/take a few minutes. Especially funny when a bronze like me can clear an entire silver/gold based job and they're practically screaming "OMFG hacker!!111one" because they're so self assured in their 'skills'

Well since APB wasn't a hard game in the first place and they changed the threat system and introduced the retarded auto-ready which means the entire bottom floor of the threat system is populated by dethreaters and newbies who lost because they didn't actually know they were in a mission and just wandered around the contact area in a confused manner trying to figure out how to buy bullets and spawn a car (and therefore the next cut above that are people who merely attempted a mission, even if they can't aim), being Silver or Gold doesn't really mean anything.

Actually, scratch that. It means you probably don't have flippers for hands. Probably.

Colbert Yeah, I quit ABP WAAAAY Before they introduced it, like, right after they introduced it on steam cause I knew it was gonna go down the shitter from there on out.

A vaguely cops and robbers themed MMO* Third Person Shooter. It's kinda fun, but it's not particularly well optomised and a good wedge of the playerbase is a bit special. It's most noteworthy aspect is probably the customisation system. Player characters, clothing, tattoos, cars etc. are fully customisable, and if you have the patience to make actual things from basic gemoetric shapes, as well as things like stylised 'tribal' and 'flame' vinyls, you can make just about anything. People use it to have everything from a character that looks like Hitler (this is bannable, btw), ripping off their favourite anime character, usually badly, to Pony-based customisations. Oh and the Joker from Batman. There are like 100s of people who look like that.

I think you'd fit right in there, but you'll probably be playing with at least 200ms latency cos the nearest server to Australia is US West.

*Open world districts and has a levelling system. But the missions are based around groups of 1-4 players (it can go higher than that, but I'll invest far too many words explaining that). It's not like Planetside with a massive contient with 1000 players on it.

My interference has not only denied profit to Mogul Co. but also caused at least one industry to collapse due to supply problems. Oh well, that's capitalism for you.

Beginning expansion around the lake. There are a couple of copper ore mines and a shitload of rubber plantations that, properly connected, will provide an incredible boost to company profit.

Rubber and copper ore taken to the factory will be converted to goods, which will boost profit further. CHA-CHING

Meanwhile, the discovery of additional oil derricks has given me an incentive to branch out more and secure a monopoly on oil transport in this area.

Balance sheet for 1965. Looking good, but could be a lot better.

I had to reconfigure the roads and truck stations a little better to allow a smoother flow of raw materials and goods to the Cheekyhead Factory. The good part about this bit is that the unusual arrangement allowed me to put two truck stations that normally wouldn't go so close together nearly side by side.

This is a the bulk of the southwestern expansion. The lake shore is lined with rubber trees ripe for harvest, with roads and towns providing access for vehicles servicing the main rail line carting the rubber to Cheekyhead Factory.

Unfortunately, expansion of that scale means the company pocketbook has taken a huge hit.

OUR COMPETITORS ARE LAUGHING AT US. WE MUST DESTROY THEM WITH MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF DONGS.

It doesn't help that the company's (now massive) vehicle fleet has significantly aged and needs replacing.

Fortunately, the rubber transport gamble pays off big time, putting us back in the black by the end of the '70s.

1980 rolls around just as the expansion is complete. Three separate road services carry rubber from outlying plantations to a lakeside rail service, while more trucks carry fruit from the south-west quadrant to Noodlehead Transfer for further transport to the food factory.

Why do I get the feeling you're specializing in trains because you still watch Thomas the Tank Engine?

I'm not specializing in trains; I'm using rail links to carry goods long distance since road vehicles are slow and as I said earlier in this thread, the sheer distance can cut into the company's profits.

At long last, welcome back to the Why God Why Let's Play of OpenTTD.

1981 brings us the start of a string of resource issues, starting with the drying up of the oil wells outside Woogington. I change the vehicle orders and they proceed to the other wells to keep the supply chain going.

On the north shore of Lake Rubbertree, the food supplies (fruit and corn) are dwindling as well. At least I can unblock the land in that area, since Mogul Co. has stopped trying to muscle in on my turf.

There's now enough copper ore being mined near Woogington to justify expanding the ore haulage operation northward. The dark orange line here shows the ore route going from Slimeywell and Muffinton to a transfer station, where the other ore trucks can carry it onward to Cheekyhead Factory.

The food operation near Lake Rubbertree is gradually winding down. Circled in white is what used to be a road tunnel, now blocked off as the infrastructure is being scaled back.

South of Lake Rubbertree is a new, more lucrative food transport operation, with fruit going by road and corn going by rail to a processing facility. Since there's a lot of trucks going back and forth along the relay chain, the separation provided by rail will help ease road congestion.

Back up north, supply problems worsen. With a final splutter and gurgle, the West Woogington oil field takes its last slurp of the hydrocarbon milkshake before the tankers cross it off their route.

As the '80s draw to a close, I've decided to open up a bus route, taking passengers from Woogington and the surrounding smaller towns. Here's the result.

The balance sheet for 1990 is promising a bright future for Pony Express.

Another long-suffering oil well turns off the pumps.

Dun dun dun another one bites the dust.

Sure, why not. All your stations and depots are belong to us.
(Five dongs. There's a group sex joke in there somewhere.)

This is far and away the most bizarre rail configuration I have ever seen. Who programmed that AI?

Here we are at last, the halfway mark! Let's check the score. Unlike last time, the major expansion has barely made a dent in the company finances, leaving us with millions of dongs with which to drive our enemies before us and hear the lamentation of their workers.

And while we're at it, let's audit the company infrastructure.

This is how we're stacking up against the competition. Bloody pink company and their planes.

Company performance rating. PE is doing well in some areas, not so well in others.

And last but not least, our spot in the corporate league table. It's going to take some serious investment to get us any higher than fourth place.

Stay tuned for 2001-2020!

Coloured areas and labels show the extent of the diversification of transport interests in the northern section.

I can't remember why I took this screenshot. Maybe it was EPIC SPAN, I dunno.

The helpful red arrow is pointing to yet ANOTHER rubber plantation. There's so many of the damned things popping up everywhere that it's getting hard to keep track of them all, let alone connect them up to the harvesting and distribution network.

See the red numbers? LOOK AT THAT OLD SHIT. Time to get everything replaced again.

It helps to have autorenew turned on; vehicles diverted to the depot can be automatically replaced with brand new versions and sent back out with no need to review orders or vehicle IDs.

Meanwhile, the bus route is really raking it in. People sure do love to travel...

The orange area highlights the next ore hauler expansion north of Lake Rubbertree. More ore trucks on back order.

South of Lake Rubbertree, intermingled with the fruit route, is MOAR rubber plantations, all in one big-ass supply chain leading back to the lakeside rail line.

ALL THE TRUCKS

The lakeside rail link is converted to a monorail system. It is hella fast and thus generates MOAR PROFIT.

Balance sheet for 2010 showing the fruits of my labour.

The southern lake has more fruit plantations surrounding it, but rather than ring what is practically an inland sea with road or rail, I'd rather have a fleet of cargo ships drop off the bounty at a transfer point.

All this extra fruit, of course, calls for more food trucks to take the processed fruit from the factory.

Coming soon: 2021-2040
