| Well, it looks as if Kate Gosselin's 15 minutes are finally up once and for all; the Washington Post is announcing that TLC has decided to cancel "Kate Plus 8"... | Jen Chaney wrote: | “Kate Plus 8” has officially run its course.
The reality show that began as “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” then morphed into “Kate Plus 8” after the messy divorce of Kate and Jon Gosselin, has been cancelled. TLC issued a statement this afternoon confirming that the show will end at the conclusion of its current season.
“By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus  ; an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future,” the statement read.
This announcement comes a week after Kate Gosselin denied the show was getting the axe during an interview on “Today.”
“Nobody has told me [about being cancelled],” Gosselin said to “Today’s” Ann Curry. “We’re happy to continue on and will do so as long as people are watching.”

That's an open question, since the only reason the Gosselins agreed to the show in the first place was because they had no other way to afford raising eight fucking kids. |

This. Plus, the children essentially had nothing even remotely resembling a normal childhood. Their parents (and the station that ran the show) got in trouble more than once for making them work longer than the child labor laws allowed. In the case of the sextuplets, they were on camera from the moment they were born.
I'd like to think their parents invested the money wisely so their kids have some sort of chance at a decent future, but I wouldn't be surprised one bit to find out they didn't.
