I just found this forum, and it seems like an interesting read. The sticky in this forum says you don't want people lurking, which is fine with me, except I can't register. It just says I'm not allowed for some reason. If I can't lurk, and I can't get an account to stop lurking, what am I supposed to do?

Well, for one thing the sticky was written when guests couldn't even see most of the boards, but it's still better to sign up.

What exact problem are you having registering? A little more information might help figure out what the problem is.

When I click the register button, it says, "You are not allowed to register on this forum." It doesn't say anything else

Hm...I just tried to sign up with a dummy account and it got through.

Spotts1701 is the only active Administrator at this point. He's the only one who can do anything to the board settings.

Your ... what would it be, ISP? ... ISP might be banned. Or you might be using a known proxy server and that's banned. That's the only thing I can think of.

I've tried looking into your IP and a couple other things a few times now and I'm not sure what's going on. I'll page Spotts and ask him to look into things for you when he gets a mo.

Yeah, I'm really not sure. I've tried through my company VPN, I've tried from my home network, I've tried on a second computer... I've even tried through Tor, and if it was something with my IP or computer, that should absolutely take care of it. I just absolutely cannot register no matter what I try

Nope. Cleared my cache and then did a complete reload with my cache cleared and I saw the same thing. Tried a different browser again and a different computer using Tor. For what it's worth, the register button looks a bit strange. It's a different size and a different font, in lowercase, and it's flashing.

I tell you what, if you've got a preferred username, email it to me and I'll create an account for you and then email you the info and you can reset the password.
