Poser is a 3D rendering program which allows users to import and arrange computer models of people, objects, monsters, ten-dicked hermaphrodite nagas . . . the usual. It's essential an art doll writ large, and can be invaluable in allowing developing artists to study the way the human figure appears from all angles. But, like all artistic media, it's primarily used by the Internet to create terrifying fanart.
Like, say, a Wonder Woman blow-up doll with rocks for breasts being stretched on a rack. Actually pretty tame considering some of the things that Poser has produced, but a good place to start. Bizarre plastic-like skin tones? Check. Absolutely no malleability in the soft tissues? Check. Facial expression somewhere between "give it to me, big boy, I'm billing by the hour here" and "I think my uterus just fell out"? Check, check, and check.
Facial expressions in Poser tend to run the gamut from almost realistic (barring that Uncanny Valley thing) to downright hilarious. Here, for example, we see a zombie Wonder Woman apparently going into brain-eating mode (I'm assuming it's a zombie, since there's no way that underdeveloped leg belongs on a healthy woman who routinely kicks ass). The artist's slapdash approach to coloring the inside of the mouth also makes it look as if she has a sheen of slime stretching between her lips, a la Aliens. Not what I usually expect from sexy chick battles.
But then, sexy is also a hit-or-miss thing with these. Check out how An I-will-eat-your-soul face and talon hands ruin a semidecent body render, for example. Overall, though, a lot of Poser art fails because it's just too plastic to be sexy.
Well, and it's being used as an easy way to produce cheap fap fodder.
This is barely scratching the surface of the badness that is Poser art. C'mon, WGW--whaddaya got?
ETA: For future reference, it's okay to post non-fan-art and non-Poser renderings as well. This kind of 3D rendering program can be used for all manner of abominations, and we want to be inclusive. :D

Plastic, or rubber-coated wire? Because I think I had a toy made like that with exactly the same knees.

My first thought about this pic was "How is that cape staying on?"

Are "original" comics okay to post, also? If so.. I'm almost too afraid to spread the word, but this unholy abomination of 3D rendering just deserves a mention: Welcome to Pronquest (naturally totally NSFW), where .. I honestly have no idea what the "plot" for this monstrosity is, but the title should be enough of an explanation. The characters are for this .. kind of comics unfittingly cartoonish, look sick and really badly nourished, the "heroine" looks like a 12 year old with horrendous implants, the plot, if there is any, is completely insane and I gave up on this beast as soon as our heroine was asked to "revive the mojo" of an old, wrinkly farmer by having sex with him.
I'm unsure whether the comic was made in Poser, by the looks of it I wouldn't doubt it.

I'd say it's fine. One of my original examples was an OC superheroine, after all, and that comic is . . . special.

My first thought was, "Those eyes look like they belong on a five day old corpse."

The facial expression and the knee near the crotch makes it look like she's a dude getting kneed in the nads.

Performing a little necromancy in honor of the season. Arise, thread, arise! It's the only thing that'll be rising after you view this beauty.
I'm not sure what weirds me out here. Could it be the strangely plastic and childlike hands? The bizarre, wide-set eyes and too even, tiny white teeth that remind me I need to return my DVD copy of Tod Browning's Freaks? Or how about the inexplicable fabric texture on what are allegedly feathers?
. . . oh, wait, how about "all of the above"?
