| I will start this off with a recent dream.
I had a short dream where this man dressed in gold and jewels was standing on a balcony, waving to a gathered crowd of people. Suddenly the earth shifted beneath their feet and the man fell from the balcony and was speared on his own cross.
Very strange.

| For the record one of the only reoccurring themes in my dreams is Batman. Sometimes I get to be Robin! |

| Ok, just last night I was dreaming that I and the hubby were in our old apartment building (soon to be my new apartment). The top half was unfinished, and for some reason the landlord was turning it into a two story apartment, with my friend down in the basement (she already lives in the basement apartment--I wasn't dreaming that she was going to be like a basement-dweller-caveperson). We were just standing there, and suddenly rattlesnakes started to invade the apartment building. They weren't just coming in holes in the walls, but like opening doors and windows to come in. The hubby had me go upstairs (while I was screaming "BUT SNAKES CAN CLIMB STAIRS!") and he started killing rattlesnakes by grabbing them and snapping their necks. The dream faded then to my mother-in-law, who's dead, telling me to make sure that the hubby goes to Family Thrift first tomorrow, and then it went back to him and rattlesnake killing for a while, and then I woke up. |

| I recently had a dream where my uncle got eaten by one of those shadow-things from Silence in the Library (Doctor Who). Wait, that's more scary than strange.
Well, last night I was dreaming about an Invader Zim/Pokemon crossover (I... think). That was kind of weird. |

| I actually had a Doctor Who dream recently. I was apparently in a mall which was being invaded by some kind of alien being who could take humanoid form, but who real form was that of a cloud of red particulate matter. A red particulate matter, BTW, which just happens to be carnivorous...so it looked at the humans there as an all you can eat feast.
Thankfully, the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver can disrupt the beings and prevent them from harming anybody...and at one point he actually gave ME it to fend them off. Bad news is...
I think the Doctor I got was the Colin Baker version. At least...that's who it LOOKED like... |

| Strange dreams? Where to start...
One of the most recent began with me standing in my kitchen, looking out over the ocean. A couple of strangers, who were guests of mine for some reason, came in and told me goodbye. After they left, I stood at the kitchen window, watching flying winnebagos land on an airstrip built on top of the ocean (even in my dream I thought this rather odd and very noisy). Getting bored, I decided to go watch some tv but couldn't since Gene Simmons was already there. He refused to stop watching cartoons and told me to get him some cheese and crackers. I went back into the kitcken and started getting it ready. When I turned around, I was face to face with the queen of England (complete with old lady skirt suit and the most tasteful tiara I had ever seen) . She told me that by royal proclamation cheese was no longer considered dairy but was now classified as a fruit. I woke up after that.

| Couple days ago I had a dream where I was being chased by time-traveling Nazis because I could kill people just by touching them with my right hand, and they wanted it.
Then I ended up in the Wild West and sought out the local sheriff for help and there was something involving a shootout. I put that bit down to all the Red Dead Redemption I've been playing.
(Before the Nazis came in, though, I was using my right hand to kill orcs whilst being guarded by an elf. It might have been Haldir.) |

| Recurring elements in my dreams: exploring large houses, and time loops. I've done haunted houses, serial killer homes, vampire lairs, etc., all with an end-of-adventure do-over like a new game+.
Most awesome one I've ever had really would make for one hell of a fun game (I dreamed incorporated gameplay elements) but I would still like to try fleshing it out into a book one of these days. It was all about a boy and his tentacle monster, AKA a guy finds the remnants of an old god in the ruins of a city and allies himself with it to restore it to power. The only thing the god can do is send the guy back in time (over and over again) until he remembers enough to actively help rather than inadvertently gathering the few scraps of power he manages each round. The two very specific things I remember from my dream: once the deja vu kicks in, he allowed himself to be captured, as he knew the guards would take him to where the god could snag him, just like the first time; and there was line-of-sight teleportation once boy and tentacle monster teamed up that manifested as a writhing knot of tentacles erupting from nowhere, sweeping out and destroying enemies within the radius of appearance, then pulling back into a ball before retracting back into the ether leaving the guy standing in their place.
I know there was a lot more, but I'm terrible about remembering my dreams. |

| I have this recurring dream where I have a recurring dream and can't remember what it's about. For years I thought that actually was what was happening, then I realised the not-remembering-the-dream was the dream.
Actually, a lot of my dreams are about dreaming. I usually know it's a dream in my dream, and it's often about the nature of dreaming. It's not like a lucid dream, as it's all very dream-like. I don't think I'm explaining it very well. |

Yeah, I know. If I sleep long enough (over ten hours) I tend to remember bits and pieces, too. But what it boils down to is that when my alarm goes, my mind isn't full of pictures and emotions, and I like that; so I don't care why that is. |

| Instead of an alarm I set my Radio to turn on at 6 each morning to wake me up... I listen to Radio 4 which, at 6am, plays a 3 hour current affairs/news/politics show called 'Today'.
As a result, I tend to have dreams that feature me interviewing/having conversations with people gibbering about politics 'n stuff. Sometimes I can even figure out what's going on, most of the time it's all rather nonsensical and confusing. |

| While feverish I once dreamed I was breaking into an abandoned building with Mellisa Joan Hart and some chick who was apparently her best friend--and halfway up the stairs said friend got down on all fours like a cat and essentially froze in place, staring, weeping tears of color-changing confetti. Hart's response?
"This must be what Jesus did."
Then we were trying to get the hell out of there because some freak was throwing skulls with glowing red eyes at the windows.

| I remember this one dream from a long time ago. I was a prisoner in a Nazi interment camp and the guards were rounding us all up for execution because they found out we were funneling information to the Allies. Naturally, we all started running away.
The camp must have been huge since we ran for what seemed like forever while being chased by big dogs. Some of the prisoners got torn up by them but me and about two others were able to stay ahead of the dogs until we got to the fence. We knew that the fence was electrified, but we were too scared to care and started climbing it.
The two with me died on the fence but when I touched it all the electricity absorbed into me. I turned around and pointed my hand at the dogs and guards and fried them all.
Then the dream does this thing like an Indiana Jones movie where it showed my progress across Europe on a map while showing first me running, then getting a ride on a boat then finely on a plane to England.
I think I was part of some special forces in the dream because they sent me right back into Nazi territory with a fake ID and orders to kill Hitler. Yea...
I remember getting into his inner circle of lovers (yea...made me sick too) and while he was planning to escape the Allied invasion of Berlin on a plane, piloted by another of his lovers that would land right in front of the Reichstag, I shot him in the head.
The plane he wanted to escape on got shot down by AA guns the Allies had taken over and crashed into the Reichstag. As the building crumbled around me I made my escape into the sewers and then I woke up.
And yes...this is exactly how I dream, in sequential, movie-like scenes based on some kind of theme. |

| I dreamed one of my toons from City of Villains, Claude, was part of an elite military force put together by one of the nastier pantheons of gods. The gods were trying to cut some deals with newer pantheons (I blame this on American Gods) and bolstering good relations with older ones. Claude had hooked up with the sister of a dude from the Angelic Army, and was on the run because his Valkyrie fiance (and two of her sisters. And the Angel) had found out and was coming to kick his ass. |

Flying dreams? Ha!

| I had a doozy last night. Cut for THE LONG | Spoiler: | | | I sometimes have very heavily symbolic dreams. I don't mean Freudian symbolism, more than within the dream, I'm hyperaware of the metaphysics of the world in the dream, and experience that world as several layers of reality simultaneously. In this one, me and a Jewish guy (who might have been a Rabbi, but was definitely into Kabbalistic stuff) were helping a family.
On one level of reality, there was a little girl with a fatal disease, her parents struggling with having their child dying before their eyes, plus a whole host of socioeconomic issues such as expensive medicines and treatments, lost work, a lost job due to missed work, consequent money issues, and all the associated psychological traumas, including drug addiction. On this level, we were providing counseling for the psychological issues, hooking them up with various services and organizations to defray the medical costs, get them enough food, and keep them in their house, plus the guy was offering spiritual support. This was the only level I should have been able to see, but it's my dream, so I get to be special.
On another level, there was a darkness in the child, which curled thorny tendrils through the household and all who had contact with it. As we worked on the first level, the tendrils dimmed, and the lights inside the parents grew brighter and the house stopped needing so many repairs. Each tendril had to be ripped out in turn, by Word and deed, till only the darkness in the child remained. On this level, when the guy spoke, his voice was pure, bright fire and the greatest of music rolled into one. They guy struggled with the tendrils by speaking fiery words and cutting at them with slips of paper that were also swords of light.
The interesting thing here was that there was no knowing if the darkness was the disease, if it caused the disease, if it came because of the disease, or if all of these were true depending on which level of reality you were working with.
|
I had to attack the dark thing itself and banish it... By solving a complex algebraic equation. This made more sense when I woke up (numerology, etc), than when I was asleep. In the dream, I kept thinking, as I was multiplying a demonic fraction by the angelic reciprocal, "This is fuuuuuucked up, yo."
Demons can be banished using algebra [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I blame the math test I have today. |

| The only dream I've had that might be of any interest to anyone else is the following:
I dreamed there was a prototype of a 3-D Phoenix Wright game that was really hard to get hold of. The game was about Godot's final days and also had Phoenix in his hobo form. I'm not sure but I think the game was abandoned rather than being an upcoming release. A short demo, some screenshots and a piece of artwork (recycled promotional artwork from Trials and Tribulations - you know the one with Godot looming over the courtroom looking especially evil) from the game were included on a deluxe edition of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. Said deluxe edition had just one level selection screen, with five little icons, one for each case, in soft pastels. One of them was of chibi!Edgeworth half-asleep on his desk. There was background music for the level selection screen too, really soft and slow. |

| ...And of course the only dreams I can remember at the moment are absolutely horrifying. I'll just stick to the most recent one, it's only slightly truamatizing. From what I can remember I was juuuust awake enough to be aware of my paralysis (and possibly my surroundings, because I don't normally have dreams set in this house), but I was still asleep. I woke up shortly after a figure grabbed my head and started to gouge out my eye, which just happens to be branded into my memory, like the last moments of a dream I had with a man-eating plant. Mmm, limb removal. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] border="0" alt="" /> I have fun dreams, can you tell? |

| A recurring theme in my more unpleasant dreams is public toilets that have something wrong with them. Sometimes they overflow and soak me, sometimes there's something wrong with the architecture so you can't use them properly, sometimes they're all in the open instead of being separated by cubicles, sometimes they're just dirty. Another version is where escaping from the monster involves hiding in a toilet cubicle which, of course, is a dead end and then the monster starts breaking the door down.
Last year, I discovered that one of my best Internet friends suffers from the same thing which we both found rather interesting. |

| I sometimes have dreams about trying to go to the bathroom (after I climb the stairs up, crawl through a small space then climb down into the cubicle which I think has more to do with my obsessive need for privacy than anything else) and not being able to do anything. In the dream I am about ready to burst.
Then I wake up and run for the bathroom. |

| I don't remember most of my dreams, but I had one a long time ago that stuck with me. It's kind of along the same lines as VenusRain's.
I spent most of the dream looking for someone. Finally, I thought I'd gotten the directions to where they were. I walked across a terrace of gray stone and down a set of steps to a door. Through the door, there was a hallway. And about the third-ish doorway on the right was the room I was looking for.
When I went inside, there was a cabinet/table (like you'd find in a kitchen or science classroom) in the middle of the room, on top of which was an aquarium. Inside the aquarium was a squid, about the size of two fists. There was someone else there, but they weren't the person I was looking for.
Then, the aquarium burst. The water and the squid drained out, but when the water hit the floor it turned to blood, and it filled the whole room about six-eight inches deep. Enough for the squid to swim around in. The squid turned inside out, and became an eyeball with trailing tentacles and sharp teeth. It attacked the other person, killed them, ate them, and then started coming after me. I ran, but I couldn't run out.
I woke up after that. |
